Nicola Brown is a UK-based artist who transforms the intricate traditions of Celtic art and medieval illuminated manuscripts into contemporary pen-and-ink explorations. Working under the name Conroy Celtish Art, she draws on her heritage to create detailed compositions that navigate themes of confinement, flow, and resolution. Each artwork begins as an asymmetrical arrangement of shapes, evolving “in the round” where every line responds directly to the last. This organic process results in nuanced, highly detailed pieces that reveal new elements upon every viewing, inviting the audience into a continuous cycle of discovery. Brown holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design and currently practices in South Birmingham..
